Official Foreign Reserves
(as of July 15, 1999)

Korea's usable official foreign reserves as of July 15, 1999 were 61.1 billion dollars, posting a rise of 0.7 billion dollars compared to the month-end figure for June.

Although the Bank of Korea repaid 1.0 billion dollars of IMF support fund, the increase in the usable official foreign reserves during the first half of the month was mainly due to repayment of BOK support funds by domestic banks as their foreign liquidity situation has been continuously improved.
