 본고는 회귀분석을 통해 상대적 소비변동성의 구조변화를 식별할 수 있는 방법론을 제안한다. 우리나라의 구조변화 시점은 1993년으로 추정되었으며, 동 시점 이후 상대적 소비변동성이 증가하였다. 항상소득가설 기반으로 이러한 이유를 설명하기 위하여 솔로우 잔차로 측정한 생산성에서 영구적 충격이 차지하는 비중을 조사한다. 그 결과, 영구적 충격의 상대적 중요성은 구조변화 시점 이전 대비 이후에 2.56배 증가하였음을 확인하였다.

We develop a new identification approach based on the regression of consumption on output to identify a structural break in business cycles. Using this method, we find that a structural change in the trend and cycle in Korea occurred in 1993. To explain these, we estimate the parameters of the productivity process in Korea, using data on Solow residuals. Our estimates show that the relative importance of trend growth shocks in the post-break period increased by a factor of 2.56 compared to that in the pre-break period.
