The Applied Micro Forum is a newly launched research platform, initiated in 2025 by the Economic Research Institute of the Bank of Korea. It was established through the reorganization of the former Micro Forum. The Forum aims to strengthen the Bank’s research capacity in applied microeconomics by promoting greater academic collaboration with external researchers.

Jointly organized with the Labor Economics Working Group (LEWG), a network of emerging scholars in applied microeconomics, the Forum hosts a variety of seminars, including research presentations, academic discussions, and invited lectures. Seminar schedules and topics are announced through the Economic Research Institute’s newsletter and website.

Regular seminars are held during the academic term on the second or third Friday of each month. During summer and winter breaks, the Forum continues through internal seminars and special lectures by leading international scholars.

For inquiries or to participate in the Forum, please contact the Forum Coordinator, Prof. Kanghyock Koh (Department of Economics, Korea University), at kkoh@korea.ac.kr.
