Introduction

The Economic Research Institute at the Bank of Korea has been hosting international conferences since 2005, bringing together renowned scholars from both Korea and abroad, as well as policymakers from central banks and international organizations around the world. In particular, the BOK International Conference, as the Bank’s leading annual international conference, has established itself as a platform for exchanging insights on policies and challenges and for discussing new theories and pressing economic issues.

In addition, the Economic Research Institute organizes various academic conferences to promote scholarly exchange with academia and external research institutions, as well as to enhance the Bank’s global engagement. Depending on the topic, these conferences are sometimes co-hosted with international organizations such as the IMF, BIS, and ADB, as well as with academic societies and major research institutes.
